The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) California is offering this grant in partnership with Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan (DRECP) partners. This grant is for conducting detailed geographic baseline data collection on biological habitat quality and vegetation across approximately 1 million acres of public lands in the Blythe-Palen Dry Lake area of the northern Colorado Desert. The purpose is to produce data conforming to DRECP-wide standards for detailed vegetation mapping and site quality assessment. This will enable uniform evaluation of the area’s biological integrity, providing a consistent and defensible basis for assessing siting, mitigation strategies, and landscape-level monitoring of its vital biological values.
