The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) California is offering this grant to implement the National Seed Strategy for Rehabilitation and Restoration on public lands. This initiative aims to improve ecosystem health, facilitate adaptation to climate change, and restore native plant communities and wildlife habitats. Through this grant, the BLM seeks to support activities like botanical inventories, genetic studies, habitat modeling, and vulnerability assessments of plant species. It will also fund the development of management plans, monitoring tools, and assess restoration efforts. The overarching goal is to ensure the availability and use of genetically appropriate native seed for critical rehabilitation and restoration projects across California’s public lands.
