Description: A. Project Background Information:
Funding for hazardous fuels reduction in Park County, Wyoming is provided to reduce fire risks in local communities through a variety of actions including hazardous fuels reduction, education and planning. This project is a continuation of an existing effort in the county.

B. Project Objective:
The BLM Cody Field Office and the recipient will assist private owners with hazard assessment of timbered lands and with reducing fuels to protect rural structures and lessen the risk of catastrophic wildfire in rural areas.

C. Statement of Joint Objectives/Project Management Plan:
The specific objectives of this agreement are to

1. Promote community assistance programs that may be used to develop local capability including; planning, mitigation, and homeowner education.

2. To plan and implement hazardous fuels reduction activities and training and monitoring associated with such hazardous fuels reduction activities, on federal land, or on and adjacent non-federal land for activities that benefit resources on federal land.

3. To expand the existing mitigation and fuels management programs to reduce risks to communities and natural resources in high risk areas.

4. To enhance local and small business employment opportunities for rural communities.

D. Period of Project: September 2010 thru August 2015
