This BLM grant is for continuing the collaborative efforts between the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Utah State University (USU) through the National Aquatic Monitoring Center (NAMC). The primary purpose is to further USU’s mission of education, research, and extension by supporting student employment and education, and creating research opportunities for faculty. Specifically, this grant will enable NAMC to continue providing systematic analysis and reporting of aquatic macroinvertebrate samples, and to foster scientifically sound aquatic resource monitoring programs on public lands. This initiative will enhance students’ classroom learning with practical experience in managing aquatic resources, deepen their understanding of natural resources, and cultivate their interest in natural resource careers, building upon the success of previous agreements.
