The BLM OR-WA is offering this grant to expand a critical climate change decision support model. This grant is for the purpose of extending an existing, spatially explicit tool, currently operational in Washington State, to encompass Oregon. The model enables resource managers to effectively assess how various climate change models and assumptions may influence the future geographic habitats of mammal species. Already supported by the State, National Park Service, and U.S. Forest Service in Washington, this project aims to provide Oregon’s resource managers with the same vital predictive capabilities, aiding proactive conservation efforts in the face of environmental shifts.
