The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Utah is offering this grant to establish and operate air quality monitoring infrastructure in the Uinta Basin. This grant is for the purpose of supporting current and future energy development while ensuring environmental stewardship. It will facilitate the deployment of a long-term monitoring station in the Vernal Field Office near Fruitland, collecting data on ambient concentrations of ozone, oxides of nitrogen (NOx), and meteorological parameters. This initiative supplements the Utah Department of Air Quality’s network, providing critical data for BLM’s NEPA compliance, environmental modeling, and impact analysis. Additional monitoring and field studies may be established in collaboration with UDAQ and other Federal Land Managers.
