Additional Information

Agency Name: Bureau of Ocean Energy Management
Description: The Environmental Studies Program of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management is offering a cooperative agreement opportunity to conduct ecosystem research in topics that serve the public interest in the safe and environmentally sound energy development on the Arctic outer continental shelf. This cooperative agreement is intended to be entered into with the Northern Pacific Research Board. In partnership, BOEM and NPRB plan to expand an interdisciplinary marine ecosystem research program in the Arctic. The Arctic program will involve the integration of multiple streams of marine data, from physical forcing factors to the processes driving marine ecology, human dimensions and ecosystem services. The geographic scope of the program will include the northern Bering Sea, Bering Strait, Chukchi Sea and the adjacent Beaufort Sea and Arctic Ocean. Research from this multilateral collaboration will support mutually identified information needs on the physical, biological and social processes in the Arctic marine environment, and improve BOEMs scientific understanding of large marine ecosystem dynamics.
