Additional Information on Eligibility: The United States Department of the Interior, The National Park Service (NPS), and Great Smoky Mountain National Park, is announcing a notice of intent to award a cooperative agreement; this is not a request for applications. This funding opportunity is to provide public notice of NPS’s intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition, under Cooperative Agreement P18AC00441 with The University of Tennessee, for a project titled; When Do Pine Seedlings form Mycorrhiza and Acquire Endophytes in Severe Fire Zones and Where Do Mycorrhizal Fungi Originate?

Additional Information

Agency Name: National Park Service
Description: The purpose of this project is to determine the mycorrhizal fungi that associate with and assist the growth of Table Mountain Pine (Pinus pungens) seedlings. After a fire, look for probable sources of these fungi, look for changes in associations as the seedlings mature, and look at the time-line for endophytic fungi to colonize needles of seedling pines post fire.
