High school youth and adult educators will participate in an intensive, substantive three-week exchange in the United States focused on entrepreneurship, design-thinking, and cross-cultural exchange to help them solve economic issues facing their communities. Youth participants will learn a wide variety of creative approaches and practices by developing and implementing pattern-breaking solutions to foster skills development in ways that are sustainable and scalable to a larger population. Youth will improve leadership, interpersonal skills and other soft skills with English as a medium of communication. Exchange activities will also introduce youths to a comprehensive survey of civic education, community service, and youth leadership development, as well as subthemes such as social inclusion, entrepreneurship, innovation and design thinking, particularly as it relates to job creation and skills training. Students and educators will participate in workshops, community service activities, meetings with successful entrepreneurs from diverse academic disciplines and professional sectors, and discussion groups and will have opportunities for substantive interaction with each other and the peers of the host country.
