Description: The Office of Citizen Exchanges, Youth Programs Division, of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) announces an open competition for the FY 2016 Emerging Young Leaders Award (EYL). EYL honors and supports international youth that have done exceptional work to create positive and impactful social change in challenging environments. The FY 2016 EYL Award will cover two years of programming. U.S. public and private non-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c) (3) may submit proposals to provide approximately ten youth each year with a two-week exchange program in the United States focused on advanced leadership development, peacebuilding and conflict prevention, and democracy and civil society. The exchanges will take place in April 2017 and April 2018 and include an award ceremony with senior U.S. Department of State officials in addition to activities related to the program themes. It is the Bureau’s intent to award one cooperative agreement for an estimated total of $400,000. For more information, please see the full announcement.
