| Additional Information on Eligibility: | Any commercial, international, educational, or non-profit organization(s), including any faith-based, community-based, or public international organization(s) (PIOs), capable of successfully fulfilling the objectives identified in the Funding Opportunity Description (see Section I) is eligible to apply. ILAB requires that all entities that elect to apply for this opportunity adhere to the specific requirements outlined in this FOA concerning monitoring and evaluation (M&E), audits and counter-terrorism. In negotiating an award with a PIO, ILAB will discuss the inclusion of appropriate language in the agreement acknowledging the rights and privileges as currently established and afforded to PIOs by the U.S. Government in accordance with U.S. law.

| Description: | The Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL, or the Department, or we), announces the availability of approximately $4,500,000 total costs for one or more cooperative agreements to fund a technical assistance project(s) in Ghana to address child labor, through an integrated area-based approach, in cocoa growing areas, with a focus on child labor in cocoa production. The project will aim to empower cocoa growing communities to design and implement Community Action Plans (CAPs) to address child labor at the community level. The project also will address child labor by helping vulnerable youth (ages 15-17) in cocoa growing areas of Ghana to further their education or develop marketable skills to secure acceptable work that is appropriate for their ages. In addition, the project will provide vulnerable households with livelihood services and occupational safety and health (OSH) training. The duration of the project will be a maximum of 4 years (48 months) from the effective date of the award. |
