Eligible Applicants: Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
Private institutions of higher education
Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
Additional Information on Eligibility: • Be a registered U.S. non-profit organization, 501 (c) (3) including civil society organizations; foreign NGO, religious association, or educational institution based or working in Honduras. Applicants must be registered in-country or submit proof that they are seeking registration in Honduras at the time of proposal submission;
• Due to the community-oriented focus of this request for proposals, organizations based outside of Honduras are required to identify and work with an implementing partner based in Honduras to ensure local ‘buy-in’ and sustainability.
• Have demonstrated experience implementing youth at-risk or gang prevention projects in Central America preferably with the targeted community (ies) identified in the proposal.

• Have demonstrated experience working with youth, women, and community leaders to implement one or more of the following: youth leadership training, civic education programs, community outreach programs, capacity building, media, social responsibility programs, community police programs.

• Have existing capacity or ability to develop active partnerships with organizations in Honduras, especially in the field of anti-gang training or youth violence prevention
