Additional Information

Agency Name: Bureau of Reclamation – Mid-Pacific Region
Description: The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) intends to issue a cooperative agreement to University of California, Santa Cruz under the authority of Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) 15.512, Central Valley Project Improvement Act, Public Law 102-575, Section 3406(b)(1) and 3407(e). Estimated total amount of agreement is $150,104.00 with Reclamation providing $150,104.00 in Fiscal Year 2013. The purpose of this study understand how the changes in the Delta are affecting Chinook and steelhead salmon population numbers, how those changes may be altering the genetic composition and evolution of the remaining survivors and whether there is a genetic basis behind the observed changes in the distribution of life history strategy from anadromy to residency in many steelhead populations. The principal objectives of this experiment are to: (1) Analyze the impacts of the facility pumps on entrainment of the Central Valley hatchery steelhead stocks, and (2) Analyze statistically significant differences between the successful and unsuccessful migrants. (Refer to the Notice of Intent to Award Announcement No. R13AS20037 for additional information)

A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed financial assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505 DM 2, paragraph 2.14(B)(2) & (4) is solely within the discretion of the Government.
