The Bureau of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region, is offering this sole-source Cooperative Agreement to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. This grant is for comprehensive fisheries research and monitoring in the Trinity River basin. Its primary purpose is to conduct essential surveys and generate annual estimates of spawner escapement, harvest, and run sizes for spring and fall-run Chinook, Coho salmon, and fall steelhead. The project also aims to evaluate the survival and contribution of Trinity River Hatchery-produced salmon to in-river sport fisheries and spawner escapements. Furthermore, it involves cooperative salmon spawner surveys, angler creel surveys in the Lower Klamath to assess the impact of Trinity River Restoration Program activities on public fisheries, and compiling all collected data into a summary report to inform management decisions. This initiative supports vital efforts in understanding and managing regional fish populations.
