Description: The Award Ceiling for Year 1 is 0 (none). CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $1,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds.
The goal of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to enhance sustainable health, laboratory and strategic information (SI) systems by supporting the provision of technical assistance and strategic planning to the Rwandan Ministry of Health (MOH) and other partnering institutions. This NOFO also aims to strengthen national systems for a comprehensive and integrated HIV response. The recipient will leverage current efforts and implement innovative initiatives to ensure the delivery of quality HIV prevention and treatment services and to strengthen the capacity of essential staff to provide those services. The recipient will also put into place a monitored transition strategy as a key element of building capacity for the Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC) to manage the HIV response upon completion of this cooperative agreement.  The proposed activities include strengthening support systems critical to HIV prevention and treatment services delivery; improving laboratory capacity to support surveillance, diagnosis, treatment, and disease monitoring; and enhancing information systems and infrastructure capacity to improve data availability, quality, and use.
