On the SIP applicant’s SF424 (R&R), the institution’s legal name, EIN, and UEI (sections 8a, b and c of SF424) must match the information of the institution selected for funding under RFA-DP-24-004 as listed in the Notice of Award. Special eligibility may apply to each SIP that will be listed in the NOFO. Description: This NOFO will provide supplemental funding to CDC Prevention Research Centers (PRCs) to conduct Special Interest Projects (SIPs). The purpose of the SIPs is to inform public health practice through high-quality applied health promotion and disease prevention public health research in real-world settings to identify, design, test, assess, evaluate, disseminate, and translate interventions (i.e., programs, practices, policies, or strategies) and tools or resources to prevent and reduce risk for the leading causes of illness, disability, and death in the United States. The seven SIPs that will be included in this NOFO are: (1) Validating survey questions on prostate cancer screening including PSA testing and shared decision-making; (2) Prostate cancer active surveillance identification using electronic health record; (3) Practice-based evidence on approaches for accurate identification and appropriate selection of individuals for lung cancer screening; (4) Lifestyle Change Implementation Research Network (LCIRN); (5) Understanding the potential of early childcare and education (ECE) centers in promoting childhood vaccines and RSV prevention products; (6) Overdose Prevention and Treatment Research Network (OPTRN) ; and (7) Scaling What Works within the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program.
