The Award Ceiling for Year 1 is 0 (none). CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $35,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds.This NOFO aims to provide accurate and reliable data for monitoring progress towards epidemic control and the impact of HIV and TB programs in South Africa, and to guide resource allocation. This award will provide accurate, timely, and high-quality strategic information to enable the South African government (SAG) to monitor and track the epidemic along with evaluating interventions targeting HIV-affected populations. Furthermore, this NOFO will utilize in-country expertise, that is both cost effective and one of the organizations condoned to conduct this strategic information gathering by the National Department of Health. The activities will improve the capacity of the SAG to collect and use high quality data to inform program and health systems planning. These activities will also provide evidence for the adaptation and implementation of health policies and interventions to reduce the burden of the HIV and TB epidemics. The recipient will utilize approaches to:maintain the surveillance of HIV in South Africa, and obtain a better understanding of the factors driving the epidemic;collect data to evaluate the South African National HIV, AIDS, and STI Strategic Plan (2017-2022) (NSP); andcollect data to monitor the HIV indicators required for preparing the reports for various international bodies.These approaches were successfully utilized previously and this NOFO seeks to maintain and improve on the available capacity to continuously provide reliable HIV estimates. |
