The FY 2013 CMVOST Notice of Funding Availability has been modified to update the program’s National priorities.
The FY 2013 goal of the CMVOST program is to expand the number of Commercial Driver¿s License holders possessing operator safety training in order to reduce the severity and number of crashes on U.S. roads involving commercial motor vehicles. The National priority of the FY 2013 CMVOST program is to assist current or former members of the United States Armed Forces (including Guard members and Reservists) and their spouses to receive training to transition to the CMV operation industry. The FMCSA will give primary consideration to those applicants that demonstrate in the application a capacity to recruit and train these individuals and provide job placement assistance after graduation. Secondary to the above National priority, FMCSA may also consider those applicants that demonstrate in the application a capacity to recruit and train individuals and provide job placement assistance after graduation to persons in documented economically distressed regions of the U.S. |
