Additional Information

Agency Name: Geological Survey
Description: The USGS is offering a funding opportunity for a CESU partner to conduct research and monitoring related to Lake Ontarioâ¿¿s lower aquatic food web in support of Lake Ontarioâ¿¿s 2018 Cooperative Science and Monitoring Initiative (CSMI) year. The U.S.-Canada Lake Ontario Action and Management Plan (https://www.epa.gov/greatlakes/lake-ontario#lamps) has identified the continuation of long term monitoring of the microbial loop, phytoplankton, zooplankton and mysids as essential to detect ecological change and to support the development of whole system ecological models to assist water quality and fishery managers (Attachment 1). In addition, opportunistic monitoring of larval fishes has been added to this funding opportunity to support other funded studies examining the status of native coregonid fishes
