Agency Name: Fish and Wildlife Service
Description: Funding from this cooperative agreement will support activities from 2016 through 2021. Activities include pig surveys to evaluate distribution and abundance of pigs as a feedback mechanism for adaptive management of the control program; fence maintenance (monthly fence checks, rehabilitation of fencing, and spot repairs); ungulate control activities (pig baiting and trapping, snaring, and shooting); as well as the analysis, coordination, and management of data and activities. Partnerships with University of Hawaii and the Mauna Kea Watershed Alliance, a local land management partnership established six years ago by the State of Hawaii, are critical to the success of this agreement.
