The Department of Defense, through its Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Research Program (TSCRP), is offering this Clinical Trial Award. Established in 2002, the TSCRP’s mission is to foster innovative research that aims to decrease the clinical impact of Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) by understanding its pathogenesis and translating discoveries into improved patient care. This grant specifically supports clinical trials, which involve the prospective accrual of human subjects to test interventions like drugs, devices, or procedures. The goal is to measure outcomes related to exploratory information, safety, effectiveness, and/or efficacy, ensuring a direct impact on the human subject. Preclinical research is not eligible for this funding.

| Description: | The Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Research Program (TSCRP) was established in 2002 to promote innovative research focused on decreasing the clinical impact of tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). The mission of the TSCRP is to encourage innovative research aimed at understanding the pathogenesis of TSC, and to translate these findings to the care of individuals with TSC. The TSCRP Clinical Trial Award supports research with the potential to have a major impact on the treatment or management of TSC. Funding from this award mechanism must support a clinical trial and cannot be used for preclinical research studies. A clinical trial is defined as a prospective accrual of human subjects where an intervention (e.g., device, drug, biologic, surgical procedure, rehabilitative modality, behavioral intervention, or other) is tested on a human subject for a measurable outcome with respect to exploratory information, safety, effectiveness, and/or efficacy. This outcome represents a direct effect on the human subject of that intervention or interaction. |
