The Department of Defense (DoD) is offering this grant to support the rapid implementation of clinical trials. This grant is for projects with the potential to significantly impact diseases or conditions addressed in the Congressionally directed FY13 PRMRP Topic Areas. Eligible trials may evaluate promising new products, pharmacologic agents (drugs or biologics), devices, clinical guidance, and/or emerging approaches and technologies. Projects can range from small proof-of-concept (e.g., pilot, first-in-human) trials to large-scale studies determining efficacy in relevant patient populations. All proposed work must be responsive to the healthcare needs of military service members, Veterans, and/or beneficiaries, though the direct use of military populations is not a requirement for the research.

Description: | The PRMRP Clinical Trial Award supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential to have a significant impact on a disease or condition addressed in at least one of the Congressionally directed FY13 PRMRP Topic Areas. Clinical trials may be designed to evaluate promising new products, pharmacologic agents (drugs or biologics), devices, clinical guidance,and/or emerging approaches and technologies. Proposed projects may range from small proof-of-concept (i.e., pilot, first in human, or Phase 0) trials to demonstrate feasibility or inform the design of more advanced trials, through large-scale trials to determine efficacy in relevant patient populations. All studies must be responsive to the health care needs of the military service members, Veterans, and/or beneficiaries; however, the use of military populations is not required. |
