Description:: | DRL seeks proposals to support a key population that precipitated the revolution in Tunisia, the informal labor sector. Programming will assist informal sector workers, including street vendors, domestic workers, and workers in low-productivity microenterprises, tailoring interventions to address the needs and employability of women and the youth. Outputs would include policies for improving respect for and raising awareness of rights and working conditions, increasing capacity of local and national government to respond to the informal worker?s needs, skills upgrading, worker organizing, and putting more workers on the road to formalization. This initiative should also build the capacity of Tunisian NGOs that work to support advocacy and awareness of these issues, including in areas outside the capital. |
