The “Advanced Next-Generation High-Efficiency Lightweight Wind Turbine Generator” FOA will support offshore wind development through the research and development of lighter and higher efficiency generator designs which ultimately impact lower capital costs and power generation costs. The primary objective of the FOA is to develop and test next generation advanced wind turbine drivetrain technologies that will facilitate the continued growth and acceptance of wind turbines for offshore applications. This in turn will lead to reductions in the cost of offshore wind energy. Note that only For-Profit entities may apply as the Prime Applicant under the FOA. There are no restrictions on the entity types eligible to apply as Subrecipients.
