Additional Information

Agency Name: National Energy Technology Laboratory
Description: The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to seek information from coal-fueled power plant owners, operators, equipment manufacturers, architect-engineers, and other stakeholders about Research and Development (R&D) activities that could lead to development of advanced technologies for existing coal-fueled electricity generating units (EGUs) that could improve the overall performance, reliability, and flexibility of the nation’s existing fleet of coal-fueled EGUs. Specifically, the DOE FE program is interested in gathering information relevant to three technical areas. These areas include: (1) – Advanced technologies for Efficiency Improvements at Full- and/or Part-Load Operations; (2) – Advanced technologies for Improvements to EGU Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM); and (3) – Advanced technologies for Improved Operational Flexibility. The intent of gathering information in these three technical areas is to inform the development of targeted R&D program to develop technologies that can be applied across the existing fleet of coal-fueled EGUs.

This is solely a request for information and is not a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA). U.S. DOE is not accepting applications to this RFI.
