Modify the second paragraph of Section IV.E. Submission Dates and Times. The following paragraph is deleted: ?Application Due Date and replaced with: ?Application Due Date All other terms and conditions of the Announcement remain the same. Mod 000001: The purposes of this modification are to: 1. Modify the first paragraph in Section I.C.2. The following paragraph is deleted: and replaced with: ?Acceptable feedstocks must be domestically available and compliant with the definitions provided in this section and Appendix A. The acceptable feedstocks proposed in response to this FOA must be shown to be domestically available in sufficient quantities to contribute meaningfully to the needed volumes of fuel as required for military purposes, or as described in the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) goal of 21 billion gallons of advanced biofuels by 2022 established by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA 2007). The feedstock quantity required for meaningful contribution to RFS goals is termed a ?high impact feedstock? as defined in Appendix A of this FOA. 2. Modify the definition of ?High Impact Feedstock? in Appendix A. The following definition of ?High Impact Feedstock? is deleted: ??High Impact Feedstock? is a feedstock that is domestically available and has the agronomically and ecologically sustainable ultimate availability potential of at least 100 million dry metric tonnes of biomass per year.? and replaced with: ??High Impact Feedstock? is a feedstock that is domestically available and has the agronomically and ecologically sustainable ultimate availability potential of at least 50 million dry metric tonnes of biomass per year. Multiple feedstocks may be combined to satisfy this requirement if the proposed conversion technology is shown to be capable of converting each of the feedstocks that constitute the 50 million dry tonnes per year. Alternately, the feedstock must be domestically available and have the agronomically and ecologically sustainable ultimate availability potential to produce at least 1 billion gallons per year of an Acceptable Biofuel.?
