For the purposes of this Funding Opportunity Announcement, small scale is defined as a minimum composite rare earth output of 10 pounds per day, reported as oxides. Process feedstocks will exclude post combustion and gasification ash char. Proposed projects may produce additional salable products.

The purpose of this Amendment is to distribute documents from the Pre-Application Webinar held on 10/14/2016 (see Appendix E on page 44 and associated attachments (2-4) to this FOA) and clarify the competitive down-select language on Page 7. All changes to the FOA are delineated in yellow highlighted text.
