Additional Information on Eligibility: This is a Notice of Intent to award a Single Source Cooperative Agreement to Dr. Christopher Guy (Assistant Leader of the Montana Cooperative Fishery Research Unit and Affiliate Associate Professor in the Department of Ecology at Montana State University) for the purpose of developing reliable information regarding gametogenesis in burbot, Lota lota, from Lake Roosevelt, Washington.

Description: The goal of this project is to develop reliable information regarding gametogenesis for population status assessment and harvest modeling of the Lake Roosevelt recreational burbot fishery. Objectives: 1) describe gametogenesis and the endocrine profile in adult Lake Roosevelt burbot, 2) develop non-invasive and less-invasive tools to determine sex and stage of maturity, and 3) develop non-invasive and non-lethal invasive tools to predict spawning readiness and successful spawning.
