This grant by the Department of Interior in Region 4 aims to provide genetic management plans and data for six listed species in the southeastern United States, including Ouachita Rock Pocketbook, Cumberlandian Combshell, Fanshell, Spectaclecase, Bog Turtle, and Pink Mucket. The project involves generating genetic data, analyzing it to determine ideal broodstock populations, developing genetics management plans, and publishing peer-reviewed papers. The funding opportunity seeks to support the regional geneticist through a postdoctoral researcher, contributing to the conservation genetics of these species. For inquiries, contact Artela Jacobs at (404) 679-7197 or artela_jacobs@fws.gov. Closing date for submissions is Aug 31, 2017.
