This Department of State SCA grant aims to foster inclusive action on climate change by promoting gender equity in policymaking and programs across selected South Asian countries. The initiative seeks to empower women-led organizations (WLOs) to actively participate in political discussions regarding national and local climate adaptation policies. It will also advance women’s roles in community-led conflict resolution stemming from climate impacts. Furthermore, the grant supports WLOs in advocating for and achieving gender equality in climate adaptation efforts, including emergency preparedness and disaster recovery. Supporting regional networks will enhance collaborative practices, community organizing skills, governmental advocacy, and crucial community outreach on shared climate crisis burdens.
