Description: |
The Earth MRI mission is to collect geophysical, geologic, and topographic data in areas of critical mineral potential across the Nation. Executive Order 13817 “A Federal Strategy to Ensure Secure and Reliable Supplies of Critical Minerals” inaugurated a government-wide effort to strengthen and sustain the Nation’s critical mineral supply chains. As one element of implementing the Executive Order, Department of the Interior (Interior) Secretarial Order 3359 “Critical Mineral Independence and Security” directed the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) to develop a plan to improve the Nation’s understanding of domestic critical mineral resources. |
