Description: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD: This funding announcement is not a request for applications or proposals. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s intent to award a non-competitive Cooperative Agreement/Task Agreement in accordance with Department of Interior, 505 Departmental Manual 2.12C. The objective of this agreement is to enhance scientific research and education programs dedicated to increasing the understanding for youth/students and the general public and to develop stewardship for these audiences towards preserving and interpreting the natural and cultural resources of Gulf Islands National Seashore. The GIREC will be one in a network of research learning centers established throughout the National Park System. These centers facilitate independent scientific investigations and educational programs through on-site support, including: research housing, classroom space and in-park logistical support.
