Description: | NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS), intention to fund the following project activities without competition. ABSTRACT OVERVIEW Cooperative Agreement Number P14AC00754 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS), and The National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP) for the purpose of promoting the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. NPS and NTHP will undertake activities that promote greater public and private participation in historic preservation programs and activities nationwide. Unless otherwise specified herein, the terms and conditions as stated in the Cooperative Agreement will apply to this Task Agreement. STATEMENT OF JOINT OBJECTIVES/PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN Under this task agreement, the Cultural Resources Program, National Park Service, Washington, DC, and its recipient, National Trust for Historic Preservation will collaborate on the National Preservation Conference, Past Forward, which will be held in Washington, DC, November 3-6, 2015. This collaboration will include acknowledgement as a principle sponsor, ability to help set agenda and assure that NPS workshops and sessions are prominently featured, and the opportunity to share the details of the NPS’s work with the Underrepresented Community Grant program which in Fiscal Year 2014 awarded $500,000 in matching grants to State Historic Preservation Offices to fund 13 projects across the country. Those projects include: inventories of African American heritage sites in Montana, Pueblo Nations in New Mexico, LGBT sites in New York City, Latino properties in Washington���s Yakima Valley and Asian American sites in Utah. Nominations to the National Register of Historic Places will be prepared for LGBT sites in Kentucky, African American Civil Rights resources in Baltimore and sites associated with Chinese immigrants and Chinese Americans in Boston. The information and the services of this agreement will be shared with the public through a variety of means (Twitter, Facebook) which will serve to increase public awareness, knowledge and support for the conservation and preservation of our nation���s cultural and historic heritage. RECIPIENT INVOLVEMENT Provide the public announcement, management, and distribution of $40,000 for Diversity Scholarships for attendance to ���PastForward���, the National Trust Preservation Conference in Washington DC, November 3-6, 2015. Acknowledge as a principal sponsor, with Centennial NPS logo and credit to Department of Interior, National Park Service. Provide informed observer commentary and post evaluation for the Multiple Voices Learning Track sponsored by the Kellogg Foundation grant for Racial Healing. The sessions associated with this track will take place on Thursday, November 5th and the morning of Friday, November 6th. The programmatic focus of the track is ���Correcting and Completing the Narrative.��� Observer commentary and evaluation responsibilities will include: Prominent marketing and media exposure associated with the National Preservation Conference including: Twenty (20) full conference registrations and 10 day registrations NATIONAL PARK SERVICE INVOLVEMENT ��� Provide information for and staff booth in Preservation Studio. SINGLE-SOURCE JUSTIFICATION DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR NPS did not solicit full and open competition for this award based the following criteria: This is a Task Agreement (P15AC01614) under Cooperative Agreement (P14AC00754) in the amount of $52,500.00 with a period of performance from date of award until 8/1/2016. |
