Description: This grant is to provide funds to enable the Pueblo of Acoma (PA) to participate in the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project (NGWSP) as specified in the Programmatic Agreement signed in 2011. The work will take place primarily at the Pueblo of Acoma, New Mexico. The Pueblo of Acoma shall designate a Point of Contact (POC) who will review cultural resource compliance documents in conjunction with work done on the NGWSP. The Pueblo of Acoma will submit any comments or concerns regarding the POC’s reviews to Reclamation. The Principal Investigator will be Dr. Kurt Anschuetz, the Pueblo of Acoma’s Tribal Archaeologist and the work will take place primarily at the Pueblo of Acoma, New Mexico, and include the following:1. Review of all new Cultural Resource Management (CRM) reports by the Pueblo of Acoma’s technical staff and the Historic Preservation Office (HPO) Board Members submitted during FY 2016, FY, 2017, FY 2018, and FY 2019;2. Support for Acoma’s participation in PA Workgroup meetings and follow-up consultation with HPO Board Members during FY 2016, FY 2017, FY 2018, and FY 2019.3. Formal review of the catalogue of the existing inventory of nearly three dozen major archaeological CRM documents by the Pueblo’s technical staff and HPO Board Members (FY 2016 only); and4. Completion of Rapid Ethnographic Assessments for the 13 reaches scheduled to begin construction during the latter part of FY 2016.
