| Description: | NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS), intention to fund the following project activities without competition. ABSTRACT OVERVIEW Cooperative Agreement P15AC00583 was entered into by and between the National Park Service (NPS), and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). The objective of the Agreement is for the NPS in coordination with BGCA to further common goals in the areas of youth engagement and development for the benefit of investing in youth. This Agreement is for the NPS to actively engage BGCA organizations and affiliated clubs (BGCA Clubs) through service-learning, educational, recreational, volunteerism, and citizen-stewardship in parks and communities. Unless otherwise specified herein, the terms and conditions as stated in the Cooperative Agreement will apply to this Task Agreement. STATEMENT OF JOINT OBJECTIVES/PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN Project Description: Through this collaboration NPS and BGCA seek to encourage America���s youth, especially those from urban and Native American population centers, to grow to become good stewards of the environment and be aware of their shared heritage. Reaching these young people requires a program intervention that is culturally relevant, engaging and fun. To meet this goal, NPS and BGCA collaborate to redesign the Ultimate Journey program. RECIPIENT INVOLVEMENT 1. Promoting all agreed upon NPS youth programs and special initiatives on BGCA���s intranet site to all Clubs across the country and world. NATIONAL PARK SERVICE INVOLVEMENT 1. Provide financial assistance as provided for in Article VI. 5. Use existing internal communication channels to promote the programs and encourage all NPS sites to reach out and collaborate with their local Club. SINGLE-SOURCE JUSTIFICATION DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR NPS did not solicit full and open competition for this award based the following criteria: This is a Task Agreement (P15AC01740) under Cooperative Agreement (P15AC00583) in the amount of $233,946.00 with a period of performance from date of award until 12/31/2018. |
