Agency Name:: Fish and Wildlife Service
Description:: (1) Facilitate the assembly and interaction of the NAWPA Committee members and/or their designated representatives by:
¿ supporting the Working Committee Chair in organizing meetings/ teleconferences and developing discussion topics for meeting agendas;
¿ preparing briefing books for NAWPA Committee and Working Committee meetings;
¿ recording meeting notes for NAWPA Committee meetings and Working Committee meetings; and
¿ reviewing past and ongoing work of the Committee in order to incorporate past experiences and keep track of progress.

(2) Support the Coordinating Group in their communications with agency heads and agency staff.

(3) In coordination with the Working Committee, manage the NAWPA website by, for example, continually adding Working Group work products, new photos, and implementation plans. A new interactive map will be developed this year by NAWPA Committee that will require a software upgrade. The NAWPA Committee would also like to see the website have increased relevancy to the general public.

(4) Work with the Working Chair to prepare formal NAWPA Committee and Working Committee reports. (Because the Service will Chair the NAWPA Committee from May 2013 through May 2014, WILD Foundation will provide additional assistance to the Service to meet the obligations of this position.)

(5) Track and report outputs from the Working and Coordinating Groups. Working Groups and their composition will undergo significant changes this year, resulting in additional workload in terms of facilitating transitional meetings and additional reporting.

(6) Assist the NAWPA Committee in relation to NAWPA Committee, Working Committee and Working Group matters for the World Wilderness Congress.

(7) Support NAWPA Committee interaction with the Canada/Mexico/U.S. Trilateral Committee for Wildlife and Ecosystem Conservation and Management and other North American intergovernmental bodies.

(8) Facilitate the dissemination of best management practices and “lessons learned” to other international wildland conservation practitioners.

(9) Ensure that the work of the NAWPA Working Groups (Climate Change, Marine, and Ecosystem Services) will be represented at the Government Forum that precedes the 10th World Wilderness Congress in October of 2013.

(10) Ensure that the work of the NAWPA Working Groups (Climate Change, Marine, and Ecosystem Services) will be represented at appropriate Workshops at the 10th World Wilderness Congress in October of 2013.
