The Department of CAP offers the Gila River Basin Native Fish Conservation Grant to address the critical need for conserving native aquatic species in the Gila River basin. This program aims to protect endangered fish species like spikedace, loach minnow, Gila chub, Gila topminnow, razorback sucker, and the Chiricahua leopard frog. With a focus on preventing the extinction of these species, the grant encourages conservation efforts and mitigation strategies against nonindigenous aquatic species. Applicants have an opportunity to contribute to the preservation of the unique biodiversity in the Gila River basin through this grant. Closing date for applications is September 11, 2015.
