This grant is for supporting the rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential to significantly impact diseases or conditions addressed in FY12 PRMRP topic areas. The DoD Peer Reviewed Medical Clinical Trial Award funds projects evaluating promising new products, pharmacologic agents, devices, clinical guidance, and emerging technologies. Projects range from small proof-of-concept trials (e.g., pilot, first in human) to large-scale efficacy studies in relevant patient populations. All studies must be responsive to the healthcare needs of military service members, veterans, and/or beneficiaries, though military population use is not required. This grant aims to accelerate medical advancements for this community.

| Description: | The PRMRP Clinical Trial Award supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential to have a significant impact on a disease or condition addressed in at least one of the Congressionally directed FY12 PRMRP topic areas. Clinical trials may be designed to evaluate promising new products, pharmacologic agents (drugs or biologics), devices, clinical guidance, and/or emerging approaches and technologies. Proposed projects may range from small proofof- concept (i.e., pilot, first in human, or Phase 0) trials to demonstrate feasibility or inform the design of more advanced trials, through large-scale trials to determine efficacy in relevant patient populations. All studies must be responsive to the health care needs of the military service members, veterans, and/or beneficiaries; however, the use of military populations is not required. |
