Description:: | ADVANCED REACTOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT FUNDING OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT During 2012 and continuing in 2014, DOE used a Technical Review Panel (TRP) process to identify Research and Development (R&D) needs for viable advanced reactor concepts in order to inform DOE-NE R&D investment decisions. That process involved the use of a Request for Information to solicit concept information from industry and engagement of technical experts from industry, universities and National Laboratories to evaluate those concepts. Having completed this process in 2014, DOE desires to partner with industry to conduct cost-shared R&D for selected technology needs identified by the TRP process. The intent of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to solicit proposals to conduct such cost-shared R&D activities. Consistent with the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014, funding in the amount of up to $12 million will be made available to fund cost-shared R&D with industry. This FOA is available at Fedconnect located at www.fedconnect.net under reference number DE-FOA-0001163. Applicants must register and acknowledge the FOA at fedconnect.net in order to submit questions and receive DOE notifications including responses to questions and submittals. The closing date for applications is October 7, 2014. Letters of intent are due no later than September 17, 2014. The DOE will conduct a Webinar on September 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. (EDT) covering project details and FOA application instructions. Webinar login instructions will be provided separately. |
