Eligible Applicants: Unrestricted (i.e., open to any type of entity above), subject to any clarification in text field entitled “Additional Information on Eligibility”
Additional Information on Eligibility: All types of entities are eligible to apply as the primary applicant, except other Federal agencies, Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) Contractors, and nonprofit organizations described in section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 that engaged in lobbying activities after December 31, 1995. Federally-owned independent corporations may apply as either the primary applicant or as a teaming partner, but should contact the DOE (see Part VII, B of this funding opportunity announcement) for an eligibility determination. FFRDC Contractors may participate as members of a team, partnership or consortium, but may not apply as the prime. Nonprofits engaged in lobbying as described above are precluded from participating.

Agency Name: Idaho Field Office
Description: The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Nuclear Energy, through this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), seeks to facilitate the development and initial testing of light water reactor (LWR) fuel concepts with accident tolerant features. Program funding will be provided at a minimum of 20% industry cost-share, 80% Federal cost-share, to the awardee(s) for the purposes of completing early phase analysis and empirical data collection to assess the impacts of novel ATF. The total Government funding available for awards under this FOA is anticipated at $10M over two (2) years, subject to availability of funds.
