This grant is for advancing the understanding of drug using behaviors and related disorders. Its purpose is to invite applications proposing innovative analysis of existing social science, behavioral, administrative, and neuroimaging data. This includes studying the etiology and epidemiology of alcohol, tobacco, prescription, and other drug use, as well as prevention of drug use and HIV, and related health service utilization. The program encourages leveraging public and extant community-based or clinical datasets to their full potential, thereby increasing knowledge on drug use trajectories, consequences, risk/resilience, and informing the development of high-quality, effective services for prevention and treatment of drug abuse and HIV.
