The National Integration Center is offering this grant to further the National Preparedness system and NIMS by establishing consistent resource deployment systems for mutual aid during all-hazard incidents. This grant aims to enhance State capabilities in providing rapid assistance to affected areas, minimizing the reliance on Federal disaster funds for aid. Through EMAC, states can efficiently request and receive assistance from other members, addressing liability and reimbursement concerns upfront. Applications accepted until August 30, 2013.

Description:: |
This Cooperative Agreement advances the implementation of the National Preparedness system and National Incident Management System (NIMS) through the development and deployment of consistent systems for the request, dispatch, use and return of resources in all States during all-hazard incidents requiring mutual aid to augment local capabilities. This will improve State capabilities for providing timely assistance to incident-affected jurisdictions and reduce the need for FEMA to use disaster funds to have Federal departments and Agencies provide the assistance. Through EMAC, a disaster-impacted State can request and receive assistance from other member states quickly and efficiently, resolving two key issues up front: liability and reimbursement. |
