The Engineering Department is offering the Broadening Participation Research Initiation Grants in Engineering (BRIGE) to foster early career faculty who will champion diversity in the field. This grant is for the purpose of enabling them to integrate effective diversity strategies into their engineering research, education, and innovation activities. Underrepresented groups include women, persons with disabilities, and ethnic/racial minorities like African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Alaska Natives, and Native Pacific Islanders. Proposals from early career faculty from these groups, and from Minority Serving Institutions (e.g., HBCUs, HSIs), are highly encouraged to enhance engineering’s diverse representation.
