This grant establishes a National Legal and Judicial Child Welfare Center. Its purpose is to build the capacity of State and Tribal Court Improvement Programs and the broader child welfare legal and judicial communities. Through technical assistance, the Center will improve legal and judicial practices across all child welfare stages—prevention, reunification, adoption, and permanency. This initiative helps beneficiaries meet federal standards (titles IV-B and IV-E of the Social Security Act), enhancing system performance and outcomes for children, youth, and families. Equity and continuous quality improvement are integrated throughout these efforts.
