Project Title: Rock Art Management Plan Support at Fort Hunter Liggett (FHL) Responses to this Request for Statements of Interest will be used to identify potential investigators for a project to be funded by Fort Hunter Liggett, which provides professional and technical support for the FHL Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan in order to facilitate successful implementation of Section 2684, Title 10 United States Code. Approximately $54,403 is expected to be available to support this project. NOTE: Attached to this document you will find a DRAFT Statement of Work/Objectives for your reference only. Again, at this time we are only requesting that you demonstrate available qualifications and skills for performing similar or same type of work. A full study proposal and proposed budget are NOT requested at this time. Brief Description of Anticipated Work: This research focuses on the following objectives: The Cooperator shall prepare a Rock Art Management Plan consistent with the California Office of Historic Preservation reporting requirements and requirements under the National Historic Preservation Act, and the Archaeological Resources Protection Act. The Rock Art Management Plan shall include the four following subtasks: The Rock Art Management Plan will provide complete site record updates using California Department of Parks and Recreation (CA DPR) forms, including forms for rock art sites, as well as milling stations and other site features as needed per site. The Rock Art Management Plan will provide a description of the sites, updated maps, and digital photography of the current condition of each site. The photographs shall include D-Stretch Imagery of all rock art except the Painted Cave CA-MNT-256 (D-Stretch Imagery for this site is already available). The Rock Art Management Plan shall determine using non-damaging methods, if additional pictographs exist underneath windblown dirt lining the interior of the Painted Cave walls at CAMNT-256, and make recommendations for future study and conservation of any previously undiscovered pictographs, should they exist. The Rock Art Management Plan will provide recommendations for the preservation of the sites. The Plan shall recommend restoration or repair work, provide best management practices information, propose additional inventory needs to identify additional unknown sites, and provide recommendations for future conservation efforts. NOTE: At this time we are only requesting that you demonstrate available qualifications and skills for performing similar or same type of work. Minimum qualifications include expertise with experience in the documentation and study of rock art, and shall meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards as published in 36 CFR Part 61, Appendix A. You will be evaluated for a request for a proposal based on skills and qualifications demonstrated in your SOI. Period of Performance. The agreement will extend 12 months from date of award.
