Description: | Staff at Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy (GGNPC) will collaboratively work with the National Park Service (NPS) San Francisco Bay Area Network (SFAN) Inventory and Monitoring Program (I&M) to gather, store, analyze, and display natural resources inventory and ecological monitoring data for key biological and physical resources in SFAN and other PWR I&M networks. The partnership within this project intends to foster efficiency by transferring knowledge between programs and implementing strategies useful to multiple workgroups. GGNPC and NPS will collaborate to perform ecological monitoring of key resources within the SFAN I&M suite of â¿¿vital signs.â¿ Work on gathering of field data and management of the resulting information and reports will inform science communication products. These products will help partners engage the public to better understand regional ecology. SFAN park units in which inventory and monitoring occurs include Golden Gate National Recreation Area, John Muir National Historic Site, Pinnacles National Park, and Point Reyes National Seashore. Work under this task agreement will involve field data collection and related data management, implementation of quality control and quality assurance procedures, and GIS. Work may also include reference photography, management of hard copy records, data entry, and information distribution via reports, web content development, brochures, and public engagement events. GGNPC will coordinate field staff and personnel to support these aspects of ecological work and record keeping. NPS will assist with setting priorities, development of record keeping protocols, provision of relevant historical records for context, technical guidance, editorial work, and proofing of project products. The public purpose is to develop and distribute scientific information on resources of the National Park System. |
