| Description: | This Task Agreement is funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) In accordence with the contract clause 52.204-11 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act-Reporting Requirements, the contractor is required to register in FederalReporting.gov and report certain information as required by the clause. Reports shall be submitted during during the first 10 days after the end of each calendar quarter.
Glacier National Park agrees to partially sponsor 2 High School Work Crews to perform trail rehabilitation in the Park this summer. The project will meet the dual goals of the program accomplishment of resource projects, and inclusion of an educational component regarding natural resource protection.The East Side project begins July 7th and will base camp in the Belly River drainage. The West Side project begins July 13th and will base camp in the Kintla drainage. Both crews consist of six youths and two adult leaders working for three weeks on resource management trail projects. Upon completion of the project, the groups will spend five days on an environmental education hike. The crews leave the Park on August 5th and 11th respectively.Project work will include replacing broken puncheon bridges on muddy sections with raised gravel turnpikes, re-grading tread, installing water bars and other drainage devices and clearing small trees and brush from the trail corridor. Specific trails will include the Boulder Pass, Belly River, Gable Pass, Stoney Indian Pass and Ptarmigan Trails. |
