Additional Information

Agency Name: Centers for Disease Control – CGH
Description: Worldwide, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) kill over 40 million people each year, representing 71% of the world’s deaths. More than 80 percent of NCD-related deaths are in low- and middle-income countries, where health systems are often not equipped to respond, and about 46% of those deaths occur before age 70. The enormous social and economic toll of NCDs worldwide calls for an integrated strategic approach to reduce illnesses and deaths due to NCDs globally.

The purpose of this NOFO is to promote health and prevent NCDs across the globe by supporting surveillance, capacity building, and implementation activities that focus on key NCD conditions and risk factors such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, nutrition, maternal and infant health, and tobacco control.
