This grant is specifically designed for Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Institutions (AN/NHI) of Higher Education. Its core purpose is to enable these vital institutions to significantly expand their role and effectiveness in addressing pressing community development needs within their respective localities. This encompasses crucial initiatives like strategic neighborhood revitalization efforts, enhancing housing accessibility, and fostering robust economic development. The primary beneficiaries of these endeavors are individuals and families from low- and moderate-income backgrounds, aligning with the foundational principles of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974.
