Description: | The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), is seeking applications for Assistance Agreements for funding to support a program entitled Regional Investigative Journalism Network (RIJN) program. The Regional Investigative Journalism Network (RIJN) program aims to support and strengthen the capacity of experienced regional investigative journalists and associated organizations through virtual and physical networking. The goal is to produce high quality, fact-based, documented cross-border investigative journalism content through better resourced and professionalized team reporting that will generate citizen demand for change. Strengthened peer to peer relationships are a direct benefit of the new media ecology, and a proven means to conduct collaborative work. The RIJN will also work to reduce the personal risks to individual journalists engaged in this dangerous but critically important work through personal safety training and other security measures. The program will network existing investigative journalists and centers, improve the professional capacity of those practitioners and publish collaborative investigative journalism works through a shared platform. |
